    A team led by Michigan State University will create a regional, collaborative, network of practitioners for large-scale stormwater management that will be supported and organized by a web-facilitated, interactive community.

  • Founders Film: A Look Back to Go Forward

    2012 - 2012

    This team is producing a short-format film documenting the Fund's founding governors, their vision for the Great Lakes and the steps they took to put that vision into action. 

  • Compact Council Support: Non-regulatory Operations

    2010 - 2012

    This award provides support for the non-regulatory operations of the Compact Council and Regional Body. The team will prepare a funding and operating plan for these new units of government.

  • Economic and Environmental Benefits of Industrial Water Use Efficiency

    2010 - 2012

    This team will design a basin-wide industrial water conservation assistance program, including a menu of program offerings for industrial facilities that use public water supply and wastewater treatment services.

  • Redeveloping Vacant Land as Green Infrastructure in Great Lakes Cities

    2010 - 2012

    This team will highlight existing efforts to implement green infrastructure and explore how green infrastructure in urban centers can increase ecological functions.

  • Networked-Neighborhoods for Eco-Conservation

    2008 - 2011

    This team is leading friendly competitions within and among Great Lakes neighborhoods to conserve water, manage runoff and adopt watershed improvement activities.

  • Launching GLIN Labs

    2008 - 2011

    This team launched an innovation platform called "GLIN Labs" that will create software, help users create new information products, and host a small set of strategy experiments for designing the future of the Great Lakes Information Network.

  • A Phosphorus Soil Test Metric for Reducing Dissolved Phosphorus Loads

    2007 - 2013

    This team is developing new ways to measure phosphorous levels in soil, helping farmers to limit unnecessary phosphorous additions on fields and save money in the process.

  • Innovative Outreach to Absentee Landowners in the Great Lakes

    2006 - 2010

    This project team reached out to absentee agricultural landowners in the Great Lakes basin to encourage the implementation of conservation practices on their properties with the general goal of reducing the negative impacts of agriculture on the Great Lakes ecosystem.

  • PBT-Free Purchasing in the Great Lakes Basin

    2002 - 2006

    The team worked to change manufacturing processes and product-design specifications for certain goods, which will lead to a complete phase-out of products that contain PBT's.
