The Sand County Foundation will reduce the impact of deer browse on forest regeneration and will improve the health of Great Lakes forests and tributaries. The Foundation will develop four large Quality Hunting Ecology sites in collaboration with hunters, state wildlife agencies and private land owners. Quality Hunting Ecology is a technique to reduce the overall number of deer and the rate of population growth by increasing the proportion of mature male deer.
