This project team will 1) evaluate the waterborne transportation system and outbreaks of biological pollution; 2) identify strategies to prevent future outbreaks; 3) create a model environmental management system to ensure that those strategies are adopted throughout the value chain (ports, shippers, carriers, etc.); 4) create a communication and outreach strategy to ensure that the management systems are adopted; and 5) work with the emerging Great Lakes Cities initiative and restoration strategy. |
