This team will prepare an implementation plan for a project to reduce the threats to the basin ecosystem presented by the trade in live organisms. In this initial project phase, the team will engage a series of public agencies and private commercial interests to plan an effort to design and test actions that prevent the release of invasive plants and animals that could disrupt key ecological processes and out compete native organisms. The team expects to identify high risk activities in the aquarium and pet trade, nursery and water garden trade, and the aquaculture and bait industries; develop action plans to minimize those risks, and assemble a project team to do the work.
