RFP - RFP - Information Technology |
Ultimately, the outcome is to restore stream health in urban and urbanizing areas in the Great Lakes watershed. The team will target areas for the implementation of management practices to control run-off, including water conservation practices, rain gardens, rain barrels, porous pavements, grass waterways, and filter strips. The project is designed to create a web-supported system of decision tools and incentives around which the team hopes to create social networks of “friendly competitors” vying for the most effective water conservation practices for water quality. The participants will recruit members along the way. Targeted geographies for the pilots include western Michigan, northwest Ohio, and southeast Wisconsin. If successful, the team will have created new strategies to encourage local stewardship of water resources and developed a new model for the extension services of land grant colleges to reach new audiences—providing robust decision support services to local organizations.
