General Guidelines |
This project will produce an effective and scientifically sound approach for assuring ecological sustainability in Great Lakes watersheds through the development and demonstration of a Watershed Ecological Sustainability Strategy for the Great Lakes Basin (WESS). The team will demonstrate the feasibility and utility of this strategy for restoring and sustaining ecological health of Great Lakes watersheds by applying it to two pilot Great Lakes watersheds, one largely agricultural and one largely urban in terms of dominant land uses/cover. By various dissemination/leveraging activities (workshops and a web site), the team plans to encourage the application of the WESS in watersheds throughout the basin. |
